TBNewsWatch: "More resources needed to protect Canadian borders from poachers"

Today's TBNewsWatch article highlights some of the work I have been doing to secure our border. The bottom line is, more resources are absolutely needed to solve this problem.

That is why I have called for a roundtable meeting in Fort Frances later this month. I look forward to sharing the results of that meeting, which I hope will lead to a comprehensive plan to address this situation at our border.

As I have said before, the rules governing our border, and cross border fishing in particular, aren’t working for Northwestern Ontario. We need to do more in terms of enforcement, while ensuring that any solutions result in true reciprocity between Canada and our American neighbours.
